Day 1: Arrival in Kagoshima – Kirishima Exploration & Homestay

Following which, take a break at the Roadside Station Kirishima, where you can sample fresh local produce and shop for unique souvenirs. Day 2: Self-Drive to Kumamoto, Kyushu

Start the day with a scenic drive to Sogi Falls, often called the “Niagara of the East,” where cascading waters create a mesmerizing natural spectacle. Then, you will arrive at Kumamoto Castle, one of Japan’s most iconic castles, steeped in samurai history and architectural grandeur.

Following which, immerse yourself in traditional culture at Sakura no Baba Josaien, a historical shopping and dining complex that offers a taste of the samurai era. As evening approaches, experience the lively atmosphere of the Kumamoto Food Stall Village, where you can indulge in local delicacies such as horse sashimi. Thereafter, check into your hotel for the night.

Day 3: Mystical Takachiho – Temple Stay Homestay

Today’s journey takes you to the mystical town of Takachiho, known for its spiritual significance and stunning natural scenery. Hop on a boat ride through Takachiho Gorge, where you can paddle beneath the breathtaking Manai Falls. Then, embark on a scenic ride aboard the Amaterasu Supercart, an open-top train that offers panoramic views of the Takachiho Valley.

Following which, settle into Anchan’s House Homestay, which is surrounded by mountains and rivers! Try your hands on various activities such as mochi making, grilling “Ayu” fish and mountain vegetable picking.

Day 5: Coastal Miyazaki – Spiritual Shrines & Seaside Beauty

Your journey continues towards Miyazaki’s stunning coastline, where you will explore some of Japan’s most picturesque shrines and natural wonders. Visit Aoshima Island, a tropical paradise known for its unique “Devil’s Washboard” rock formations that stretch along the shoreline.

Then, stop by Miyazaki Shrine, a historic site dedicated to Japan’s first emperor, before heading to Udo Shrine, an extraordinary cliffside sanctuary overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean. This spiritual haven is believed to bring good fortune in love and family life.
